Fantasies (the primer)

It is an odd thing to listen to people talk about suppressing their fantasies as if they are wrong. (Note here that I am not going near religion with a ten foot pole in this post. Your religion is your religion, so if sexy talk bothers you…you might not like this next series of posts.)

So what if someone can read your mind!

I say, if someone invades my mind (which I do not believe is possible), then I hope they brought earplugs and a “blindfold,” because I let my fantasies run rampant inside my head. A lover once told me that their favorite thing about me was that I dive into things with reckless abandon. Sounds sexy and scary at the same time.

Fantasies serve some very important functions!

Some of you reading this may not have actually jumped off into the world of playmates and fetishes. This may be a fantasy for you. CONGRATULATIONS! You are exploring a healthy part of yourself that others have probably told you is wrong to explore. I think that is a colossal, vertical heap of feces.

Fantasies can fulfill sexual desires otherwise left unfulfilled. They can help guide us through some of our fears and reservations before we do something like set up a tryst with a stranger. Fantasies can increase the likelihood, duration and frequency of orgasms. Fantasy can help us cope with less than positive life circumstances. Wow! This bears further exploration!
